Call for Documents

Our francophone colleagues in the group, Archives à voix haute des deux rives de l’Outaouais, host community events that showcase archival material in the French language preserved in the Ottawa-Gatineau area. Each event features archival documents that are contextualized to the audience around a common theme.

Archives à voix haute des deux rives de l'Outaouis is looking to expand its pool of archival documents  (especially on the Ontario side) and to reach new audiences.  Check out the call for documents on the Community page for more information.

AAO 2013 Conference Planning Meeting on Wednesday 18 January 2012

Did you know that Ottawa has been selected as the site for the 2013 AAO Conference?  AAO-East Executive submitted a proposal that convinced the AAO Board that Ottawa was the place to be in 2013.   Now we need to figure out what needs to be done to get the show on the road!  To that end AAO-East is hosting an open meeting to discuss the planning and the logistics for organizing the conference.
When:                  Wednesday 18 January 2012, 6-7:30pm
Where:                 395 Wellington Street, Room 156, Ottawa, ON
Agenda:               Welcome and Introductions

Overview of Conference Planning from AAO Board perspective

Review of AAO-East proposal and feedback from AAO Board

Next Steps

This is the first meeting to be held for the purpose of planning the 2013 Conference since the announcement was made by the AAO Board in late 2011.  This will be an important meeting because we are trying to get an indication of the level of interest of AAO members and friends before we form committees, decide on venues, confirm the programme, etc.

This meeting is open to all those who have an interest in being involved in the planning and logistics for the 2013 Conference.

Please see attached, the original 2013 Conference proposal submitted by the AAO-East Executive to the AAO Board.  If you have any difficulties in opening the attachment, please let us know.

Looking forward to seeing you on Wednesday!
AAO-East Executive
