This is a unique opportunity to visit this facility.  Canadian Conservation Institute preservation specialists are preparing a presentation specifically for this evening that is geared towards those interested in the preservation of archival and museum items.  As well you will learn about opportunities for continued professional development through the institute’s internship program and its many publications.

Exciting News from the AAO East/Est Executive

Thursday 10 May 2012 is an important date in the AAO East/Est calendar.

Please join us for our Annual General Meeting (AGM) which will take place at the Canadian Conservation Institute on Innes Road in Ottawa, Ontario from 6:30-9 pm.  This is a unique opportunity for our members to get the inside scoop on this important organization whose conservation research results in publications and products important to archives and museums in Canada.

Importantly, the following Chapter business will also be part of the AGM:

1)      Acceptance in principle of a constitution for AAO East/Est
A draft of the proposed constitution which reflects the current and future needs of the chapter is available upon request.  We are asking that members review this document prior to the AGM and send their written comments to the executive.  For a copy of this document please email the executive at aaoeaast@gmail.com .  We will be accepting comments on or before 8 May 2012.

2)      2012 Election for the Executive Offices for the Chapter
AAO East/Est is hereby giving notice that the nominations for its 2012 executive offices are now open.  We encourage anyone who has an interest in serving on the Chapter executive to contact the Nominations Chair, Margaret Dixon at mjdxn@yahoo.com   For a more detailed announcement,  please go to the Events Page on the Chapter`s blog at: http://www.aaoeast.blogspot.com

3)      Reports on the finances, activities and accomplishments of the Chapter’s during 2011-2012, as well as a proposed budget for 2012-2013. To be distributed. 

4)      Information on the 2013 AAO conference to be held in Ottawa
